Deceived (Gwen Sparks, #2)Deceived by Stephanie Nelson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is the second book in the Gwen Sparks series, boy do I hope she plans to write more and fast. This last book leaves some emotional issues unresolved and even though the big war is for the most part taken care of I find the Gwen's up in the air relationships bother me a lot. This book irritated the hell out of me with all the plot twists and back stabbing I wanted to scream at the book GWEN!!! Come on your a big bad powerful witch stop being a doormat and start kicking some ass. Sadly this lasts for awhile where her attitude just doesn't match her mouth or her inner turmoil it takes her a long time to stand on her own and kick some ass. Hopefully she has a big growth between this book and the next if she was consistently the kick ass Witch I know she wants to be. This was over all a great read and I'm excited for the next book.

Craved (Gwen Sparks #1)Craved by Stephanie Nelson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is the first book in the Gwen Sparks witch series. I found that I couldn't put it down, it had the most intriguing story line a very unusual take on the supernatural that involved witches blood being like a drug for vampires, with younger vamps basically experiencing a euphoria and blindingly blue eyes. The older the vamp and the more powerful the more powerful the witch is where all Gwen's problems start. You see witches blood is highly addicted and everyone is dying to get there hands on Gwen's blood.
I loved the suspense of this story, the plot, and the mystery behind everyone's actions. The budding romance between Gwen and Adian is hot ride of sensuality which left me wanting more. These two seem made for each other, but with how the plot is written I'm having a hard time trusting anyone it seems like everyone has a hidden agenda where Gwen is concerned. This is a great quick read with a lot of action, a roller coaster of emotions, and enough steam to fog up the windows. I recommend you read this and then get the second book as well you wont be disappointed.

Fierce Dawn (ParaRealm Series #1)Fierce Dawn by Amber Scott
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I found this book by accident on amazon there doing this promo for free or cheap books so people will try out these great new indie authors. In the beginning this book started to confuse me the interaction between the immortal character's left me feeling like I missed parts of the story, I kept reading in hopes to have this cleared up which it is only because we find out more about them and then the beginning makes sense. I got into the rhythm of the story and didn't want to let go. This book has a lot of anguish, turmoil, and conflicting emotions that each character is dealing with, some of the emotional upheaval is shared between characters but most is personal stuff their dealing with on top of the bigger plot that's unraveling around them. Usually this much family drama would have me putting the book down and moving on, I read books to escape my everyday life not have other peoples excessive baggage thrown in my face chapter after chapter. Surprisingly the family drama is part of what kept me interested I really started to root for the main character and hoping she would tell her sister off at some point and take the reigns back to her life.
The romance that starts between the two main characters is yet another roller coaster ride of emotional and indecision it fit with the story and made me yearn for them to fall into each other and never come up for air. From the beginning you know that there's something special between them, they just need to see it too. This ended up being a great read with an interesting plot that has its own paranormal.world.and rules to go along with it, this was a refreshing and new take on the supernatural. I looked for the next book as soon as I was done its not out yet but fear not it is listed at the end of the book so you atleast know a name and that there's more to come.

Damon (The Protectors Series #1)Damon by Teresa Gabelman
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

It was a fast and easy read. The story was a usual vampire story but author’s writing style has potential.

Nicole is a social worker who had been in the system for the first eighteen years of her life herself, making her a more compassionate case worker She loves children and feels like she can relate to them. This brings us to Damon who is a vampire warrior who has been sent to help Nicole and her co-workers in learning self defence. Nicole is being targeted since she protects children who are turned to vampire from those who sell their blood for money and Damon protects her with the help of fellow warriors. Nicole is Damon’s mate but he refuses to claim with her, even though Nicole also yearns for him.

Nicole’s humour made this book more enjoyable. I thought the author did a great job portraying the chemistry between the Damon and Nicole. The author had a great supporting cast filled with seriousness with a dash of humor throughout. My only complaint would be the similarities between other vampire books out on the market when your creating your own reality the possibilities are endless so it wasn't necessary to repeat themes that are found in other books. Just a little tweaking and she could have had a much more original story to work with. All in all this was a good read and the author has a lot of potential
Thanks for the free read I did enjoy it :)

Agent M: Project MabusAgent M: Project Mabus by L.M. Vila
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I received this book for free for a review, I'm not a big Scifi fan and I was wondering what possessed me to sign up for this book so I kept putting off reading it. Not reading it right away was a mistake, trying to lump it in with what I consider Scifi also was a mistake. From the moment you open it you are greeted with the blood-thirsty antagonist. From there, your thrown into one of the wildest rides I've ever experienced. This book was well written, well narrated, and the plot was a nice blend of scifi and crime novel. The author does a very good job of giving you both the intelligence behind the drug company and the M drug, plus the need for action.

My favorite character had to be Meryl. It was great to see such a refreshing take on the female agent role. Most Authors portray female characters as either hard-nosed or bitchy, but Meryl is unique and different you can't help but like her. Michael has his own unique charm too but he's plays dark and mysterious for most of this book. This was such a great read that tickled all of my emotions. Even the ending had me guessing as to what was going to happen next.

Immortal Rider (Lords of Deliverance, #2)Immortal Rider by Larissa Ione
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is the second book in the Lords of Deliverance series, and this one is all about the horsewoman Famine. This is a great follow up to the first book filled with all the angst and mayhem that you've come to expect from the first book. This is the apocalypse coming to fruition, it's gritty, scary, and just plain bloody. The connection between the two main characters happened a little fast for me, but if you know some back story on Famine it does begin to make sense later on, plus her love interest ends up in hell being tortured for a month maybe this is considered courting for a horsewoman of the apocalypse.
You find out so much more information about the people that are in and out of the story lines, the 4 horsemen, and more of the myth and legends surrounding their seals that if broken lead to hell on earth. This was an intense read faced paced and action packed, with a very hot and steamy romance to add to this wonderful mix that makes up this series. I enjoyed the humor I started noticing inner woven in with the story lines even at the worst of times sarcasm is a nice stress relief. It made these characters more believable to have them trying to lighten the mood in the face of all this doom and gloom. If you haven't read this series or this author I recommend you do its a great read and very well written.

Eternal Rider (Lords of Deliverance, #1)Eternal Rider by Larissa Ione
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is the first book I've read by Larissa Ione. I have to say I was impressed. Not only does she paint an impressive world with words but she has mastered making it believable, even when whats going on in the book is so over the top extreme it still stuck by her plot and she never took the easy way out just to get to the happy ending part. This is the first book in her Lords of Deliverance series and I couldn't put it down. You are dragged from one huge catastrophe to another all in the hopes that something, anything will fix the coming apocalypse. I liked how believable her characters were, they reacted to situations in a manner that made them even more real they didn't push boundaries and try to be someone else just to make the book more pleasant. The story line is hard, brutal, and at times extremely romantic bordering on erotic. Your dragged along by your hair and not the seat of your pants, of course this is the apocalypse so what did you expect. There is nothing comfortable or cozy about this story except for the love that starts to bloom between the two main characters. The romance surprising went along a more moderate route than most paranormal romances take, usually authors use this "instant connection" as an excuse to have lots of sex early on in there books. For the circumstances that were happening in this book the romance went at the speed that complemented the story instead of detracting from it. The author instead chose to make better use of her time painting a world for her characters to play in making it believable and one I will visit again. Great read and I would totally recommend this series and reread it.
