Fierce Dawn by Amber Scott
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
I found this book by accident on amazon there doing this promo for free or cheap books so people will try out these great new indie authors. In the beginning this book started to confuse me the interaction between the immortal character's left me feeling like I missed parts of the story, I kept reading in hopes to have this cleared up which it is only because we find out more about them and then the beginning makes sense. I got into the rhythm of the story and didn't want to let go. This book has a lot of anguish, turmoil, and conflicting emotions that each character is dealing with, some of the emotional upheaval is shared between characters but most is personal stuff their dealing with on top of the bigger plot that's unraveling around them. Usually this much family drama would have me putting the book down and moving on, I read books to escape my everyday life not have other peoples excessive baggage thrown in my face chapter after chapter. Surprisingly the family drama is part of what kept me interested I really started to root for the main character and hoping she would tell her sister off at some point and take the reigns back to her life.
The romance that starts between the two main characters is yet another roller coaster ride of emotional and indecision it fit with the story and made me yearn for them to fall into each other and never come up for air. From the beginning you know that there's something special between them, they just need to see it too. This ended up being a great read with an interesting plot that has its own paranormal.world.and rules to go along with it, this was a refreshing and new take on the supernatural. I looked for the next book as soon as I was done its not out yet but fear not it is listed at the end of the book so you atleast know a name and that there's more to come.
