Damon by Teresa Gabelman
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
It was a fast and easy read. The story was a usual vampire story but author’s writing style has potential.
Nicole is a social worker who had been in the system for the first eighteen years of her life herself, making her a more compassionate case worker She loves children and feels like she can relate to them. This brings us to Damon who is a vampire warrior who has been sent to help Nicole and her co-workers in learning self defence. Nicole is being targeted since she protects children who are turned to vampire from those who sell their blood for money and Damon protects her with the help of fellow warriors. Nicole is Damon’s mate but he refuses to claim with her, even though Nicole also yearns for him.
Nicole’s humour made this book more enjoyable. I thought the author did a great job portraying the chemistry between the Damon and Nicole. The author had a great supporting cast filled with seriousness with a dash of humor throughout. My only complaint would be the similarities between other vampire books out on the market when your creating your own reality the possibilities are endless so it wasn't necessary to repeat themes that are found in other books. Just a little tweaking and she could have had a much more original story to work with. All in all this was a good read and the author has a lot of potential
Thanks for the free read I did enjoy it :)
