Black Wings (Madeline Black, #1)Black Wings by Christina Henry
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I read a review on this book on amazon that made me really curious about the author and this series. The reviewer had stated that this was recommended to her as an example of bad fiction and poor writing. But the reviewer was actually pretty shocked by how much she enjoyed this book and couldn't figure out what her friend had meant. I totally agree this was one of the most interesting, twisting storylines I've read on the suggestion of a bad review. It kept me involved, interested and curious enough that I bought the next two books when I was finished.
The main character is Madelyn Black her job is to collect souls and pass them over into there after life. The powers and talents are passed down through the blood line, and hers isn't the only bloodlines that creates these reapers. She is a very strong, stubborn, lonley girl who has been raised by her mother's gargoyle. Madelyn has no idea about her father or just how specail her bloodlines really is.
I don't know if this was the author's first book it did have that feel to it though. Not that its a bad thing the second book is just a little better, it flows better and seems like she hit a grove with her world where it just seemed the author was hearing the voices of her character's a little better. This first book is very reasonably priced on amazon I really think if you like the paranormal you should check this series out.
