A Perfect Blood by Kim Harrison

This is another great Kim Harrison Hollows book. I literally haven't wanted to put it down since I started it last night. This was a nice change of pace from some of the other books where we got to see a lot of character growth and Rachel actually accepting what she is, and responsibility for her choices. I've always been a Trent fan and have felt that Rachel needed to get over some of the "crimes" of the past but of course who doesn't love a bad boy and in this series he's right up there on the list of yummy bad boy's. Since Pale Demon Trent has been obviously doing things to help Rachel out, in this book he's right there by her side trying to keep her out of trouble (like anyone could) and helping her kick bad guy butt. I loved that we got a softer side to the Hollows series this time, it's a side we don't often get to see when all hell is breaking loose and everyone is either fighting or running for cover. We find out a lot of big reveals this time and it's great to know Kim Harrison won't be wrapping up this series anytime soon she has wrapped up some of the cliff hanger story lines, only to throw bigger and badder plot twists and crazy's our way. This was a great read I can't wait to see where she takes us next.

I finished this the second book in a three part series in less than a day. This was an intense roller coaster ride of emotions, suspense, action, and romance. It's all around my favorite combination in a book. My only disappointment is that I'm finished with it already.
This book is Hope's story really even though there are other well formed characters, I consider this to be hers. I didn't expect it to be such a great story about overcoming emotional and physical abuse, but this plays a big part in defining who Hope's character is. Added to this is a murder mystery that was unsolved in the first book.
I'm not sure how, but Shiloh Walker has succeeded keeping me clueless on the identity of the monster terrorizing this town. She does give you insight into his thoughts and actions while still maintaining a tight grip on who he is in the community. I have never been so at a loss for who the murderer is even after two books I have no idea who to suspect. This is awesome I love that I've been stumped it's never happened before I always know who the killer or bad guy is way before your suppose to.
This is a great series if you haven't read the first book I strongly urge you to buy it. This series is one you have to read in order or you miss out on information you need. Running the risk of ruining the first book for yourself. I hope this helps you if your trying to decide on a new book to read. I don't post info off the book description, only because I hate regurgitating what you can read for yourself when you looked up this book. I do feel the need to say one more time this is an awesome series and Shiloh Walker is a talented writer you won't regret buying this book. On the plus side its only a trilogy so you also know there's an end in site where you can get the answers to the lingering questions left by the first two books.

I really enjoyed this book, even though it's a YA book I really got sucked into the story and the characters. The author paints an enchanting picture of Marina, who has a total life change when she has to stay for a year with her aunt and cousin. First she's never been to a real school before since her dad is always traveling and she usually goes with him. This causes her to go through the normal ups and downs of teenage angst. Emotionally she is just confused and a little scared. Being so close to the ocean makes some huge changes happen with her and she doesn't have a clue about why she's different.
I don't want to give to much away so I'm going to gloss over some info and hope you still get how wonderful the over all feel of this book was. Strange things start to happen to and around Marina almost right away leading her into a mystery that includes having to find out more about herself and her mother who died while delivering Marina. Her father is to devastated over the loss of his wife to talk about her even after 16 years he still avoids the topic. This makes it hard for Marina to find out anything about her. Soon she's totally wrapped up in finding out who or what her mother is. The romance that starts between Marina and Ethan is so pure and sweet that it successfully reminded me what first love feels like, and a teenagers ability to feel so wholey without hesitation. I thoroughly enjoyed watching the romance between Marina and Ethan bloom into something more than either of them counted on. This is a beautifully written love story with a unique supernatural spin. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

Third Grave Dead Ahead

Third Grave Dead Ahead by Darynda Jones

I'm going to try not to write any spoilers in my review since I know its irritating.
This is a great third book in the Charley Davidson series. Anyone that enjoys paranormal romance, or just a kick ass take no prisoners main character will fall in love with this book series. I highly recommend you start at the beginning or you will miss out on very important situations, information, and character development.
This book is an edge of your seat fast-paced read. The characters are all well rounded and have substance. I find myself wishing I could have coffee with most of Darynda's Characters. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this original take on the supernatural world. It will grab you buy the seat of your pants and not let go even when the book is finished I find myself wondering what's going to happen next.
I want to tell you about the story line but I don't want to give away anything about the book, so I will just say this its a shocking read for Charley Davidson's fans and the situations and ending will blow you away. I find myself irritated and fascinated all at the same time. This book took me less than a day to read I just couldn't put it down. I can't wait for the 4th book to come out!! I'm going to end up rereading the first 3 books to tide me over until the 4th book comes out, then I will have to find something else to distract myself cause I'm sure her book won't be out next month no matter how hard I wish. :) If you've never read this series before what are you waiting for you won't regret for one minute picking up the first 3 books you might even thank me for telling you about them. :)

If You Hear Her: A Novel of Suspense by Shiloh Walker

This new series that Shiloh Walker has started really grabbed me from the start, I love that I have no idea who the bad guy is I can usually figure that out way to early in most books. I also like how she connected you with more than just the two main characters it really allows you to immerse yourself in the story, I got really caught up in what was happening with all of the characters it made the story more real for me and by the time I got to the end I had gone on an emotional roller coaster ride with her characters. There is so much going on it makes for a fast pace story that leaves you wanting more. This is a great suspenseful story and the romance that she had added in just made it that much better. I can't wait untill the second book in the series comes out at the end of this month, here's a link to the second book check it out!!
